Residents can drop-off their empty and rinsed glass containers free-of-charge at a location convenient to their homes or workplaces. All colors of food jars & beverage bottles, canning and candle jars, perfume and cologne bottles will be accepted. Users of the drop-off program are asked to rinse the containers of all residue, i.e. food, drink, oil, wax, etc., and remove the caps and lids, while labels can stay on.

All other types of glass will not be accepted. The end-market for the collected glass is container manufacturers in Pennsylvania. Following the guidelines of this drop-off program helps to establish a long-term comprehensive glass recycling infrastructure to address community needs and supports circular economies through “bottle-to-bottle” glass recycling.

This program is made possible through a public-private partnership between Prism Glass Recycling LLC, the Erie County Recycling Program, the Erie Area Council of Governments, CAP Glass Recycling and the Glass Recycling Foundation.

Prism Glass Recycling is a new affiliate company of Erie Management Group LLC formed to develop a comprehensive system to solve the problem of glass recycling for our communities. For further information on Prism Glass Recycling, visit www.prismrecycling.com.
